Comments from the coaches after the CAN-DEN game
Beijing, September 13 – Comments from coaches and athletes of Canada and Denmark after their Pool A preliminary match.
Daniel Snow (Coach of CAN)
On the team performance:
“Our players played very well today, exerted their normal level. And we had a little luck today.”
Mario Caron (CAN)
On the match:
“I felt great for scoring the first two goals and it was very encouraging for everybody. We and Denmark are matched 50/50. Win or lose, it is normal.”
Jeffrey Christy (CAN)
On defense:
“We wear shorts and choose to stand while defending because it’s more mobile and we can move faster.”
Robert Christy (CAN)
On his defensive ritual:
“I do a special gesture when I defend because it helps me.”
Gregers Lehmann Bruun (Coach of DEN)
On why they conceded six goals:
“One of our players had a fever and couldn’t play. That’s one of the problems. The second is that in this match there were too many long balls and highballs, and the third is that the Canadians are very strong.”
On last second substitution:
“We didn’t have enough time, so I made a substitution to stop time and give our players another chance.”
On team performance:
“They played very well, and the Canada team is very strong.”
