(Beijing, September 14) The "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Goalball Tournament entered its second day competition at the Beijing Institute of Technology Gymnasium. Host China and Canada, who clinched their first group win yesterday, met today for their second group match in Group A. As a result, the host team defeated Canada with 11-3 for its second straight win.

Canada, a traditional strong team in the sport, was challenged by the host team with tight defense and flexible tactics. The first half saw a close fight between the two sides and ended with 4-2. In the second half, China missed no chance to attack and kept scoring until 9-2. Canada counterattacked and scored its third goal by rolling the ball over a Chinese player across the opposing goal line. After a time out called by the Canadian side two minutes before the end of the game, China's No. 6 Du Jinran, who had just replaced teammate Chen Liangliang as a substitute, took a successful penalty throw and scored twice in a row to carry the day. The game ended 11-3 in favor of the host team.
