(Beijing, September 14) On the second day of group heats of the 2007 International Goalball Tournament, Japan and Finland, who lost both of their games yesterday, met for their third and last group match today in Group B. As a result, Japan narrowly won over Finland with 6-5 to place third in Group B. Finland came out last in the group with three straight defeats.

Both teams, made up of young players, went all out in the game. Japan opened the score but Denmark came from behind to tie the score 3-3 before the end of first half.

In the second, when Japan got a penalty Denmark lost the chance to score with a misthrow. Following that, the Japanese players lost no time to score two goals, first with a direct throw and then a crosscourt throw. Denmark counterattacked and successfully tied the score at 5-5.
