Beijing, September 14 – Comments from coaches and athletes of Lithuania and Denmark after their Pool A preliminary match.

Karelis Levichis (Coach of LTU)

On the performance:

“Today we were nice. Our defense was good. Today we focused on the defense. Yesterday we were weak bit today we were better. We have got used to the court.”

On goalball being popular in Lithuania:

“Because our country is very small, goalball is the only sport for the blind. But women don’t play it.”

Arvydas Juchna (LTU)

On defense:

“All matches should be like this. Defense is more important than offence.”

On why he loves goalball:

“I was very lucky to find this sport.”

Gregers Lehrmann Bruun (Coach of DEN)

On losing the game:

“We had good defense for only a short time. Lithuanian scored five goals within five minutes in the second half.”

On their opponents (Canada and Lithuanian):

“I think Canada is a better team. We didn’t perform very well today.”

On next opponent (host China):

“China surprised me a lot. They have good shooting.”
