Beijing, September 15 – Comments from coaches and athletes of Lithuania and Japan after their quarterfinal match.

Karolis Levickis (Coach of LTU)

On standing during the match:

“It gives me a better view.”

On balls thrown out of play:

“It seems our players are still not used to the court, and sometimes throw the ball out.”

On three goals in the last minute:

“I told them to do everything right.”

On impression of Beijing:

“Your capital has developed very well, and the organization of the event is also perfect. I like Chinese food very much.”

Arvydas Juchna (LTU)

On bagging three goals in the last minute:

“We should carry on until the last second and fight to the end.”

On impression of Beijing:

“It’s my first time to Beijing. It’s a very big city. On our first day here, we went to Tian’anmen Square. I want to go to the Great Wall on the last day if possible.”

Shinji Mizuno (Coach of JPN)

On defeat:

“Lithuania’s balls were very fast. I told my players to focus on defense, the side balls in particular, but sometimes the balls bounce into the goal.”

On athletes’ performance:

“They struggled with stamina, but it did not have any effect on the match.”

Masatoshi Ito (JPN)

On bringing off two players:

“The coach hoped all of us could get some experience and also save energy.”
