Comments from the coaches after the FIN-CAN game
Beijing, September 15 – Comments from coaches and athletes of Finland and Canada after their classification 5-8 places match.
Timo Kalevi Laitinen (Coach of FIN)
On performance:
“We did well in the first half, but in the second we conceded too many goals. They didn’t do anything I wanted them to do.”
On coached career:
“I coached goalball at first, and then I was a floorball coach for seven years. But I came back to goalball because I like it.”
Ville Montonen (FIN)
On performing cartwheels before the game:
“Sometimes I do that to show my excitement.”
On Chinese Kong-fu:
“I am inspired by Kong-fu. I like it. It’s interesting.”
On his spare time:
“I just train, and I like reading in my spare time.”
Daniel Snow (Coach of CAN)
On performance:
“I’m not satisfied with our performance so far. We should’ve been much better. We lost nine goals in the first half because of too many penalties. In the second half we performed better and there were no penalties. We lost no goals.”
On the secret to winning this game:
“We won because Finland’s defense was not very good and their right wing was especially weak.”
Mario Caron (CAN)
On too many long and high balls:
“I threw the ball too hard, and my leg is injured, so today I didn’t do very well.”
On defense:
“Sometimes our teamwork wasn’t good, so we must train more.”
